Light Armour:
Padded: Padded armour features quilted layers of cloth and batting. It gets hot quickly and can become foul with sweat, grim, lice, and fleas. While offering little protection, it hampers movement the lease of all armours.
Leather (Cow or Netch): The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armour are made of leather that has been stiffend by boiling in oil. The rest of the armour is softer and more flexible leather. Netch Leather, while only found in morrowind, is better suited for making Leather armour, making it lighter, yet more durable than those made in other provinces.
Studded Leather (Cow or Netch, with Iron, Steel, Silver, Adamantine, or Ebony Studs): This armour is made from tough but flexible leather (not hardened Leather as with normal leather armour) reinforced with close-set metal rivets. The exact alloy used for the rivets only increases the armour’s durability by a small amount.
Chainshirt (iron, steel): A shirt of chainmail protects your torso while leaving your limbs free and mobile. A layer of quilted fabric underneath prevents chafing and cushions impact of blow. It comes with a steel cap.
Bonemold Breastplate: A breastplate covers your front and your back. It comes with a helmet and boots. A light suit of soft leather beantah the breastplate protects your limbs without restricting movement much. A Bonemold breastplate is very light compared to normal breastplates, though it is not as durable as metallic alloy ones.
Chitin Plate Armour: Made from laminated insect shell glued with organic resins, chitin armor is also superior to any comparable Western light armor designs. Chitin armor gives better protection, but is lighter and more comfortable, than Western light leather and reinforced leather armors. Chitin Plate Armour covers the entire body.
Glass Studded and Plated Netch Leather: The Dunmer are the masters of light armor design, and the glass armor is the pinnacle of that design. Inspired by traditional High Elven ornate armors, this very expensive armor is studded with native volcanic glass. Remarkably light and flexible, glass armor absorbs and distributes shock better than steel.
